CFIA Webinar on AMPS for Meat

Posted May 29, 2014

The Canada Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has decided to move forward with the introduction of Administrative Monetary Penalties (AMPs) for the meat sector.

To discuss with stakeholders how AMPs will be applied and to seek industry input on the proposal,  the agency is holding two webinars, one in English and one in French, on Thursday June 5th.

Stakeholders are required to register for the webinars in advance.

While CFIA is introducing AMPs for the meat sector at this time, it is anticipated that this will form the compliance framework for the introduction of AMPs for other food categories once the new Single Food Regulation comes into force. Accordingly, you may wish to attend even if your current interest is not with meat.  If you are unable to participate, the CFIA advises that a recorded version of the webinar will be available at a later date.

Date: Thursday, June 5, 2014

Time: 1:00 -2:00 PM (EST)
