CBP Reviewing Information Collections on FTAs, Harbor Maintenance Fee

U.S. Customs and Border Protection is accepting comments through Jan. 16, 2015, on the proposed extension of the following information collections.

Free Trade Agreements. FTAs involve the collection of data elements such as information about the importer and exporter of the goods, a description of the goods, the tariff classification number and the preference criterion in the rules of origin. Respondents can obtain information on how to make claims under FTAs here. CBP notes that it has increased from 12 minutes to two hours per response its estimate of the time necessary to prepare and submit information related to FTAs. Read more here.
