RCN Calls for NHS to be Left out of Global Trade Deal

The RCN has written to the government and members of the European Parliament calling for the NHS to be exempted from a major international trade deal.

The Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) is currently being negotiated to remove trade barriers between the European Union and the United States.

The college fears the move could result in increased health service privatisation and undermine the UK’s ability to maintain the NHS in the public sector. Read more here.
