Ongoing congestion at the Port of Rotterdam is delaying thousands of boxes and adding substantially to shippers’ costs, according to an official of the Dutch shippers’ council EVO.
Among the victims have been Dutch brewers Heineken and Bavaria, which earlier this week were forced to introduce a modal backshift from barge to truck, policy manager Lodewijk Wisse claimed.
“We have big concerns. For shippers, costs are increasing very rapidly,” he said. Read more here.
