World ‘Closer to Self Drive Trucks’

There still are regulatory hurdles to be jumped, but more vehicle manufacturers are working toward the mainstream manufacture of commercial vehicles that can drive themselves.

Germany’s Daimler says goods traffic is set to increase substantially in the coming years, which is why it is developing the Mercedes-Benz Future Truck 2025 that will turn today’s driver into a “transport manager”.

“We are facing completely new models for freight traffic,” said Professor Sabina Jeschke, director of the faculty of information management in mechanical engineering at RWTH Aachen University in Germany. Read more here.
