Position: Customs Concierge (Formally, Customs Service Coordinator)

Location*: Based out of Columbia, SC (lives in SC or NC) or Lynden, WA – *Remote capable and with high consideration given to candidates in close proximity to the Columbia, SC or Lynden, WA office

Hours of Work: Regular Work Hours – Monday-Friday – work hours will be between approximately 8:00 am-5:00 pm EST (40 hrs per week). One Stat Holidays will be required to be worked annually.

GHY USA, Inc. has an exciting opportunity for the role of a Customs Concierge. GHY International is an international customs and trade services group designed to assist importers and exporters to buy and sell in world markets. This position focus will primarily be a client experience champion, supporting for GHY USA LVI. The successful candidate will have strong communication and technical skills to handle new client inquiry, onboarding, release and billing. A complete 360 service model to give the client a feeling of ease and simplicity when navigating customs.

Responsibilities:

  • Receive calls and action leads from potential customers and complete vetting process according to guidelines provided.

  • Provide guidance to importers on the process of importing into the US & Canada.
  • Assist new customers with shipments – review documents – key entry and ensure seamless service
  • Complete & maintain internal and external administrative portion of account setup
  • Answer customer questions regarding their accounts
  • Gather and organize feedback from clients regarding their experience with GHY and communicate this feedback to the teach
  • Continuously brainstorm ways to improve our client experience and be an advocate for them
  • Be a champion of compliance and possess HTS classification skills
  • Manage Onboarding process for new LVI clients
  • Ensure welcome packages are sent to the new clients
  • Execute accurate customs entries in operational system.
  • Audit customs entries processes
  • Issue invoices
  • Ability to represent GHY and be the voice of the company while interacting with clients & colleagues in a professional collaborative manner

  • Ability to remain cool, calm, collected and organized, even in times of high volume

  • Acute attention to detail
  • Must have strong, friendly, upbeat verbal and written communication skills
  • Active and creative problem solver; someone who is a self-starter and rolls with the punches

Compensation

  • Wage dependent upon experience
