New Customs Tariff Version Comes into Effect

Harmonized System Tariff Changes Taking Place in 2022

The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) has posted a fourth version of the 2022 Customs Tariff, which will become effective on Wednesday, September 21, 2022. This fourth version includes changes to Chapter 17 – Sugars and sugar confectionary, and the updated Customs Tariff is now available on the CBSA website.

The Canadian Customs Tariff files show the tariff treatments from countries with which Canada has tariff arrangements, as well as preferential tariff treatments for products coming from countries with which Canada has a free trade agreement. They are updated at least once a year, or whenever necessary.

The 2022 Customs Tariff files were updated on March 2nd, July 1st, and are now being updated as of September 21st.
