As previously reported, U.S. Customs and Border Protection will be adjusting certain customs user fees and limitations established by the Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act for Fiscal Year 2021 in accordance with the Fixing America’s Surface Transportation Act.
These COBRA adjustments include, but are not limited to:
- Merchandise Processing Fee (MPF) for Formal Entry changed to min. $27.23 / max. $528.33;
- Fee for Informal Entry or Release (automated/not prepared by CBP) changed to $2.18;
- Surcharge for Manual Entry or Release changed to $3.27;
- Dutiable Mail Fee changed to $5.99.

These adjustments will be applied to importations effective October 1, 2020.
Note: The new amount will be in effect for a summary pre-filed prior to October 1, 2020 if the relevant entry date is on or after October 1, 2020.
