U.S. CBP ACE Update: APHIS Core Codes & Other Changes

Posted October 15, 2019

U.S. Customs and Border Protection has advised that the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) CBP and Trade Interface Requirements (CATAIR) Appendix Partner Government Agencies (PGA) has been updated.

In addition to incorporating the Lacey Act Units of Measurement (UOM) changes introduced in July that are now available in production, the new version of ACE CATAIR Appendix PGA will include various Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) Core-related code changes, including a reduction in APHIS Core codes.

The APHIS changes in the update cover the following areas:

  • PG06 Processing types
  • PG10 Commodity Category codes for APH0600
  • PG10 Commodity Characteristics for APHIS Characteristics Fruits and Vegetables (Physical State A61)
  • PG14 Licenses, Permits, Certificates, or Other (LPCO) Type Codes

CBP says these changes are now in the testing environment and expects they will be in production on Oct. 28, 2019.

Additional updates have been made to three Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (DDTC) International Trade Arms Regulations (ITAR) import exemption codes, all of which are now currently available in all environments. Specifically, the descriptions for 126.4a and 126.4c were updated; in addition, code 126.4b has been added.
