Maersk Line and Mediterranean Shipping Co face an extended review period for their planned vessel-sharing agreement as the Federal Maritime Commission studies details of the alliance that were filed last week.
Commissioner William Doyle has already indicated that the clock may be stopped on the 45-day process while he submits questions to the two lines about their proposed 2M collaboration. The other four commissioners or FMC staff may also want to learn more about 2M before deciding whether the U.S. agency should give the go-ahead, or attach certain conditions. Read more here.
