French Try to Ease Canadian Fears over Free Trade Deal

Canadian dairy farmers should not fear the infiltration of European cheeses in supermarkets, instead, they should embrace the chance to sell their cheeses abroad, says a French embassy expert on the Canada-European Union free trade deal.

Canadians are largely unaware of the size and scope of the recently signed Comprehensive Economic Trade Agreement (CETA) and how it has the potential to boost trade from 20 to 50 per cent in some areas, said Frédéric Kaplan, the head of economic affairs at the French embassy. Read more here.
