The International Longshore and Warehouse Union is limiting its participation in West Coast port negotiations for 12 days through the Thanksgiving weekend, according to the Pacific Maritime Association.
The only bargaining through Dec. 1 will involve subcommittees discussing limited issues. The employers group wanted full negotiations to continue.
“We have made it abundantly clear that we believe these negotiations are of the utmost importance and should continue at full strength until the Thanksgiving holiday,” Pacific Maritime Association spokesman Wade Gates said Nov. 20 in a news release. Read more here.
