Winnipeg, MB – There aren’t many companies that get to celebrate 125 years, but this year, GHY does, and I’m proud to share this milestone with you – the clients, partners, and associates who helped us get here.
When George Henry Young founded GHY in 1901, it was before cars, commercial flight, computers, or the internet. The world has transformed many times over since then, through wars, economic shifts, and the rise of global trade.
Across four generations of leadership, one thing has never changed: our commitment to taking care of our clients and people. We’ve put this commitment into what we call CARE.

This milestone is a chance to look back with gratitude. But more than that, it’s a chance to look ahead with purpose. And as for what comes next, we’re more energized than ever.
The years to come will ask more of us: more innovation, more agility, and a deeper commitment to your business. And I’m excited about that.
You may have already noticed our anniversary coming to life through our branding. In the months ahead, we’ll be marking this milestone in a few special ways, and we hope you’ll be part of the celebration.
Before I close, I just want to say thank you. A company doesn’t reach 125 years on its own. It gets there because clients, partners, and its people believe in it and stay with it, and that’s exactly what we’ve done together.

GHY was established in 1901 by George Henry Young in Winnipeg, Manitoba, as one of Canada’s first customs brokers, based on a mission to provide importers with premium service, integrity, quality, and professional representation before Canadian customs. In late 2025, GHY acquired W.G. McKay, combining two of Canada’s most storied customs brokerage firms for 235 years of combined experience. Today, the company services over 2,500 importers and exporters across Canada and the United States.
