U.S. Imposes 15% Section 232 Tariff on Polysilicon and Its Derivatives Effective December 4, 2026
The United States will impose a 15% Section 232 tariff and Minimum Import Prices on covered polysilicon and derivative imports effective December 4, 2026. The proclamation also introduces new importer documentation requirements, CBP enforcement measures, and incentives for companies investing in U.S. polysilicon production.
Canada Imposes 25% Surtax on Certain Wood Cabinet and Vanity Imports (Safeguard Code 26169A)
Canada imposed a 25% surtax on certain imported wood cabinets, vanities, and subassemblies effective July 31, 2026. The safeguard measure applies to specified goods under the Certain Wood Cabinet and Vanity Goods Surtax Order, with importers required to declare covered goods through CAD filings and report safeguard code 26169A.
CBP Modifies Post Summary Correction Processing Requirements
CBP issued guidance on Post Summary Correction (PSC) processing changes effective August 5, 2026. The update covers ACH payment requirements, full payment rules, interest handling, and filing exceptions for certain suspended entries. Importers and brokers must follow the updated requirements when submitting PSCs through the Automated Broker Interface.
