In a notice published on Wednesday, the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative announced a six-month extension for 81 of the 99 exclusions for specific product descriptions under Section 301.
The exclusions are for “certain medical-care products needed to address the COVID-19 pandemic.” The exclusions were previously extended until November 14, 2021, and will now expire on May 31, 2022.
USTR has also allowed a transition period for the 18 exclusions not being extended, which are now be set to expire on November 30, 2021.
Note: These exclusions are available for any product that meets the description in the annexes accompanying the USTR announcement. The scope of each exclusion is determined by the 10-digit Harmonized Tariff Schedule subheadings and the product descriptions in the annexes.
