CARM – Changes to Import-Export Programs (RMs)

he responsibility for registering new and/or making changes to import-export program (RMs) accounts e.g. RM0001 has recently shifted from the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) to the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA). This change is part of the implementation of the new CARM system.
New Process
Moving forward, all RM account-related matters should be directed to the CBSA. Meanwhile, the CRA continues to issue business numbers (BN9s) and handle registrations for various other CRA program accounts.
Registration
To register for a new import-export program (RM) account, download and complete the Form BSF947.
Request Changes
To request changes to an existing CBSA import-export program (RM) account, download and complete the Form BSF948.
Once completed, the forms are to be sent to carm_rm_support-soutien_rm_gcra@cbsa-asfc.gc.ca.
